Love Death + Robots 2 - POPSQUAD - ENV/DMP

Last year I had the amazing opportunity to work with Blur studios on Love Death + Robots season 2 episode POPSQUAD.

I was tasked with 3 Matte Paintings of the main establishing shots for the high-society cityscape.
I was provided with a layout building geometry, and proceeded with materials + textures, Lighting, rendering, DMP pass, and projection setups. Additional layers of volumetric clouds and various other elements were added, by the amazing team at Blur, to make these shots really come to life.

Additionally I provided a 360 panorama of the city at night, from the vantage point of the balcony, to add additional background details for that sequence. As the element, in these specific shots, were to be heavily defocused, there was a greater emphasis placed on window and building lighting. As there were to be various shots using this nighttime pano, I also provided a dynamic Nuke setup to allow for easy customization of building + cloud placements on a per-shot basis.

I assembled, procedurally textured, lit, and rendered the base for these DMPs, in Clarisse iFX, then did a DMP pass in photoshop/nuke, and assembled the projection setup using Nuke and Maya.

I utilized a provided layout and geometry, but procedurally textured, lit, rendered, and painted these 3 matte paintings; in addition to providing projection setups for all 3 shots.
